The Consecration of the North Downs Tabernacle
Over a bottle of wine, the District Grand Superintendent, Right Eminent Jack Love, leaned over to Em Kt Pt Steve Jones and said, I want to consecrate a Tabernacle in Nutfield and I want you to be the Recorder.
And so began the process of forming Tabernacle 299, North Downs. Numerous bottles of wine later, it all came together on an Autumn morning in Surbiton.
The 24 founding members of the Tabernacle met for rehearsals early on the morning on Thursday 25th October 2018.
The Grand High Priest of the Order Most Illustrious Knight Priest, Christopher Gavin Maiden officiated and installed Very Illustrious Knight Priest Pat Crossan as the Tabernacle’s Primus High Priest.
The Consecration was well attended with Acting Grand Officers from all over the country attending and enjoying an excellent lunch after the meeting.
The Tabernacle has moved now to its permanent home in Nutfield and has welcomed two new members into the order at its subsequent meeting.
